Expect a full state of charge in up to 11 hours under ideal conditions when charging from a CEE 32 A industrial outlet at the full 7.2 kW. Charging from a standard UK three-pin socket takes longer because the charging current is automatically limited. Charging time also varies with the vehicle model, on-board charger capacity, starting state of charge, and ambient temperature.

The Mobile Charger pairs with every Porsche electric and plug-in hybrid model equipped with a Type 2 connector, including the Taycan, Macan Electric, Cayenne E-Hybrid, Panamera E-Hybrid, and 918 Spyder. Compatibility also extends to any third-party electric vehicle that complies with general EV charging standards and features a Type 2 inlet.

The GB version ships with two supply cables: a CEE 32 A three-phase industrial cable (IEC 60309-2, 1 metre long) for CEE outlets, and a BS 1363 Type G cable (1 metre long) for standard UK three-pin domestic sockets. The 4.5-metre Type 2 vehicle cable is permanently attached to the control unit.

No. The charger itself requires no installation and plugs directly into a suitable domestic or industrial socket. However, if you intend to charge regularly from a CEE 32 A industrial outlet at home, that socket must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations. Porsche also offers a recommended installation service that includes an electrical supply check and configuration.

Every charging session is protected by a built-in Type A residual current device (30 mA AC plus 6 mA DC fault detection), continuous temperature monitoring on the plug and control unit that reduces power or interrupts charging if either component runs warm, and protective conductor monitoring that confirms a proper earth connection before charging begins. Colour-coded LED indicators on the control unit show the operating state and identify any fault.

Yes. Attach the control unit to the optional Porsche wall mount (SKU: 9J1073010, sold separately) to keep the charger tidy, off the floor, and always in the same place at home. The unit clips off the mount in seconds when you need to take it with you, so home convenience does not come at the cost of portability.

The Porsche Wallbox is a fixed installation charger that delivers up to 22 kW on a three-phase supply, integrates with the My Porsche app, and supports Plug & Charge, energy management, and solar surplus charging. The Porsche Mobile Charger is portable, delivers up to 7.2 kW, has no app connectivity, and travels with you between locations. Buyers who charge exclusively at home usually choose the Wallbox; buyers who need charging flexibility away from home choose the Mobile Charger.

Yes. The Mobile Charger carries an IP 55 rating for protection against dust and water jets and operates in ambient temperatures from -30 °C to +50 °C. Keep the plug and socket connection sheltered from direct rain and never immerse the unit in water. During thunderstorms, disconnect the charger from the mains supply.
